The Dazaifu area is filled with food stalls, souvenir shops, and tourists from around the world. My friend Sayaka from Seinan pointed out that she hardly hears Japanese here, but instead, she hears English, Chinese, Korean, and other languages. As soon as we made it to the main shopping street, a local news crew asked to interview us and show our favorite pictures from the trip. Here were some highlights from our time in this area..

Some girls from our group got dressed up in traditional Japanese kimonos. There were so many layers of wrapping fabrics!

On the grounds of the Dazaifu shrine were beautiful gardens that can be enjoyed in all four seasons! Sayaka said she loves to come at least four times a year to see each season in full effect.
Feeding fish- one of my favorite parts was feeding the fish in the ponds! They competed with a turtle for bread crumbs.
It was a great day!
